How do I get help after hours?

For an urgent situation after hours, call the answering service at 859-323-0303. One of our doctors is on call at all times.

If you need immediate attention, we will make every effort to have you seen by your primary care provider the same day. If your doctor is not available on that day, we will schedule you with another doctor or have a nurse contact you to discuss your needs.

If you need to reach a physician after 5 p.m. on a weekday or during a weekend or holiday, call the paging operator at 859-323-5321 and ask to speak to the physician on call.

If you have the following symptoms you should go to an emergency room immediately:

  • Difficulty breathing and/or changes in skin color.
  • Chest pain, radiating from the breast bone or high in the abdomen to the jaw, neck, shoulder blade(s) or arms. Impending feelings of "doom."
  • Mental status changes or loss of consciousness. Abrupt onset of a severe headache accompanied by nausea and/or vomiting or feelings of drowsiness.
  • Fever higher than 105 degrees at any age or a fever higher than 100.4 degrees if child is less than 3 months old

Bleeding that continues after 10 minutes of direct pressure.

If you or a family member needs care for an acute condition, such as a minor injury, the sudden onset of an illness or acute pain, you may seek care at an urgent care provider.
