Breastfeeding is a natural way for new mothers to bond with their baby and provide the vital nutrition newborns need. But just like many aspects of having a baby, it’s not always easy the first time. Breastfeeding is an important skill to learn, and
we’re here to help you.
Available to all moms who want to breastfeed and are interested in a breastfeeding assessment by Kentucky Children's Hospital providers. During your visit, your baby will be weighed and examined by a doctor. A lactation consultant will work with you to develop a plan to meet your breastfeeding needs.

Class focuses on the advantages of breastfeeding, proper positioning and latch-on, guidelines for adequate breastfeeding and how to prevent and resolve discomfort. Fathers or support persons are encouraged to attend. A certified lactation consultant teaches this class.
Class times: One Thursday every other month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and one Saturday a month from 9 a.m. - noon.
Cost: $25 per couple
