Our labor room beds are capable of various positions to assist you during labor. We also have squat bars for your pushing phase.
If you choose to have an epidural, we have anesthesia coverage 24 hours per day. An anesthesiologist sees everyone admitted to Labor and Delivery to obtain a history and physical. Then, if you desire their services, or if you need emergent care, they will know how to care for you. We also offer peanut balls to patient who have epidurals and can’t ambulate. Peanut balls have been found to decrease the length of the dilating stage of labor by 90 minutes and the pushing stage by 23 minutes. They also have been found to lower the cesarean section rate.
