International Adoption Clinic

Each year thousands of infants and children from other countries are adopted by American families. The International Adoption Clinic at Kentucky Children’s Hospital helps families before, during and after their adoption.

Pre-adoption medical evaluations
When your adoption referral is received from an adoption agency our physician will review the available information and offer a medical opinion on the health and medical risks of the child. Post-adoption initial health screens
After your child arrives in the United States we offer a comprehensive medical exam, including a physical examination, growth and development assessments, labs and appropriate referrals if needed.

You can contact Grace Florence, RN, at the numbers above to schedule your child’s post-adoption appointment. We recommend your child be evaluated within 2-3 weeks after their arrival in the United States.
