Pediatric and Adolescent Obstetrics & Gynecology

UK Obstetrics & Gynecology offers specialized care in pediatric and adolescent obstetrics and gynecology. Our physician is fellowship-trained in caring for the unique needs of younger patients. With examinations and procedures designed specifically for children and young adults, we provide the utmost comfort and care for patients ranging from newborns to age 21. We offer a wide variety of treatments and services.

Pediatric services

We specialize in the treatment of many conditions commonly seen in younger children including:

• Vulvovaginitis – irritation or infection
• Prepubertal bleeding – bleeding before the normal age of menstruation
• Labial adhesion – a common condition in pre-pubertal females that sometimes blocks urine flow

Adolescent services

We specialize in the treatment of many conditions commonly seen in teenage and older patients including:

• Ovarian cysts – fluid-filled sacs formed on the ovaries
• Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
• Menstrual irregularity – a significant variation in menstrual cycle length and flow
• Pubertal menorrhagia (heavy periods)
• Dysmenorrhea (painful periods)
• Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) – a hormonal disorder of women in reproductive age, sometime causing menstrual irregularity and excessive hair growth
• Sexually transmitted diseases (STD)

Educational services

Along with treatment, we aim to provide educational services to all of our patients on topics such as:

• Importance of annual gynecological exams
