Transplant Surgery
UK Transplant Surgery specializes in the transplantation of major solid organs, including the heart, lung, kidney, pancreas and liver. Our center has been providing transplantation services since 1964 and is now performing more than 130 transplants each year for Kentucky and the surrounding states.
Our physicians, nurses, and clinic staff bring extensive expertise to treating and supporting the needs of this special group of patients. To ensure the highest level of collaborative effort, the transplant team provides constant feedback, pre- and post-transplantation, to all referring physicians regarding each patient's plan of care.
Outpatient evaluation and management of organ disease takes place in the Transplant Center (located on the fourth floor of UK Chandler Hospital). To facilitate access to their clinic visits, the center is pleased to cover parking costs for transplant patients.
