Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery

The Cardiothoracic Surgery (CT) team specializes in:

  • Early correction or complete repair of single ventricle heart defects
  • A wide range of congenital heart diseases
  • Consultations during pregnancy that prepare the parents and medical team for issues that may arise for the baby soon after birth
  • Procedures that frequently are completed within days of birth, with many performed within the first two weeks.

The coming addition of pediatric heart transplant capabilities will put expertise in place to care for children at virtually every level of cardiac need.

Valvular repair

An increasingly common procedure in children, the surgical team also performs follow-up procedures for a rapidly growing population of adults who had heart disease as children.

The continuum of care offered through the different stages of life is a critical component to the long-term health of your patients.
