Hospital Ethics Committee

The Hospital Ethics Committee (HEC) is a multidisciplinary committee that includes members from the UK hospitals, as well as the VA Medical Center. The HEC continues to be a standing committee that reports to the Medical Staff Executive Committee (MSEC). The main charges of the HEC are to review or generate policy, as well as run the Clinical Ethics Consult Service. The HEC meets the first Monday of each month. Hospital Ethics Committee Co-Chairs

The HEC is Co-Chaired by the Director of the Program for Bioethics and one rotating Chairperson who is appointed for a two-year period. Currently the Co-Chairs of the HEC are M. Sara Rosenthal, PhD and James McCormick, MD. For either membership issues or agenda items, contact one of the Co-Chairs.
